At Grace we are dedicated to serving as the hands and feet of God through acts of service and mission both in the local community and outside the Corpus Christi area.
Below are descriptions of a few of our ongoing mission ministries:
Celebrate Recovery Ministry meets every Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Worship Center. Celebrate Recovery is aimed at anyone who has compulsive or addictive behavior, dealing with alcoholism, smoking, drug addiction, divorce, overeating, co-dependency and other disorders that impede function in daily living. If you, or someone you know, might benefit from Celebrate Recovery, find your safe place among us at Grace United Methodist Church We will begin with worship at 7:00 p.m. followed by breakout discussion groups. Afterward, participants are invited to linger for light refreshments and fellowship. For more information contact Sharon (361) 242-9486
Mentoring: a ministry committed to connecting children with dedicated & caring mentors who help guide the child to develop trusting relationships with peers & adults, help with homework, & enjoy quality fun times together. Mentoring begins in the fall and ends in the spring.
Flood Buckets: Every year Grace gathers supplies and fills over 100 flood buckets used for emergency response in Texas and Louisianna. For more information and a list of supplies needed e-mail the church office at GraceUMC@sbcglobal.net
Adult Mission Trip: Twice a year Grace sponsors an adult only mission trip to communities in the valley. These trips are designed to expose participants to the life changing Grace of God at work in the lives of those they serve.
Kairos Cookie Night: about four evenings a year Grace members get together to bake cookies for our Kairos prison ministry that occurs twice a year. Grace makes about 100 dozen cookies on each of these evenings in hopes of sharing God's love one cookie at a time.
K1G2 (Knit 1 Give to) Ministry: Projects include baby afghans, prayer shawls, pillows and any other items that would give comfort and share love to those who are sick, homebound, grieving, or hurting. No experience is necessary. We meet as a group about once a month and members work on their chosen projects at home.
Thrift Shoppe Volunteers: Our community thrift shoppe is run by volunteers from Grace, as a way to reach out and serve the community by providing clothing, furniture, and other items at a low cost. Visit the Thrift Shoppe at 4425 Church St.
Sea City Work Camp each summer rebuilds homes for families in Corpus Christi. Visit their website at www.seacityworkcamp.com
Other Missions include: Pumpkin patch, Corpus Christi Beach Clean-up, Kairos Prison Ministry, and other great and exciting opportunities for service.
